LUCIE

Lucie is a natural water baby, and this shows through all of her passions.

Through working with my breath I am able to still the business of the mind and find space in the body, which brings much needed peace! Being consciously aware of the breath instantly connects you to the present moment. This really shows in my yoga classes and especially sup yoga classes, the open water can bring a sense of fear and anxiety within, centring by using the breath and pranayama can have a real grounding affect whilst on the water.

I found my own yoga practice grew so much stronger when I started free diving several years ago. Free diving is a sport where you use kumbhaka pranayama (holding your breath) in the water and swim to depth. This brings intense feelings of both external and internal pressure- the compressive support of the ocean all around and the suspension of breath within - everything inside of you becomes magnified. It makes you feel very vulnerable and very alive!

One of the most beautiful and useful outcomes of this practice on the water is the personal trusting relationship that emerges between breath, body and mind, and this provides me with so much freedom- that I have greater awareness on how to intelligently utilise my energy. It is this connection and awareness of breath, energy and intelligence that really helps me find grace and elegance in my yoga practice and as much as I can, in life.

Lucie is a women’s wellness Yoga teacher, open water swim coach and Free diver, Lucie has been practicing pranayama and asana for around 8 years, training in Hatha Yoga in 2016 and free diving & sup yoga in 2017.

JAYNE

I teach fluid, soulful yoga with a strong focus on healthy alignment, somatic and breath awareness and playful exploration. My teaching style is accessible and open to all levels, ensuring sound biomechanics while encouraging each student to develop confidence and joy in their yoga wherever they are right now, and inviting everyone to keep the spirit of curiosity and playfulness in their practice and life. I am honoured to be able to share my love of yoga and the many benefits, both physically and mentally that mindful movement and breathing practices offer.

My own practice consists of more than 20 years has taken in many styles from the dynamic (ashtanga/vinyasa, acro and shadow) to experimental somatic movement, Qi Gong and meditation. I weave in elements of them all to create classes that are both energising yet help us connect with that deep pool of calm we have inside us all. I adore swimming and being in/near water… I honestly would not be able to choose between swimming and yoga if I had to (please don’t make me!), so SUP Yoga is bliss ;) I had my first SUP session while teaching at a festival in 2015 and just fell in love. I then trained to teach SUP yoga on a wild sea in the Isle of Wight.

Meditation is an important part of my daily routine and one I love to share.

Accredited by the BWY and Yoga Alliance (500hr), I have been teaching in London since 2010. I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga and YogaCampus, completed an advanced RASA teacher training with the magical Sianna Sherman, as well as SATYA, Somatic awareness training with Tias Little, Restorative yoga, and other specialist classes. I also lead CPD workshops for yoga teachers/trainees.
