What is SUP Yoga?
SUP = STAND UP PADDLEBOARD
SUP yoga classes are a fun way to practice yoga, SUP also brings you closer to nature using the element of water. SUP Yoga classes are done on a 10 * 8 inflatable paddle board, You will anchor yourselves so the paddleboard doesn't float away and you can start to relax. The yoga class is a slow class as much more time is spent on postures and transitions. The last asana of the class is a relaxing shavasana, Laying down with the feeling of floating, dipping your toes & fingers in to the water.
As the practice differs from being on land, there are some poses which require changing the alignment to create equal weight distribution and better balance on the board. The main aim in yoga for me as a teacher and a student is focus and clarity in the mind. I feel that during the SUP yoga your focus is solely on being conscious and aware of the breath and balance.
What to bring with you:
